Working smoke detectors save lives.
Thousands of people die in home fires every year, and often do not get out of their homes in time from non-working detectors. Manufacturers of smoke alarms say the alarms should be replaced every 10 years, as newer alarms having better technology to detect smoke and fires, and can help reduce false alarms. Batteries in existing smoke alarms should be replaced at least every year (and sooner in some cases).
We offer a more convenient solution for smoke alarms needing so much maintenance: an installation of 10-year sealed smoke alarms. These newer alarms never require battery changing throughout its 10-year life. No more chirps every minute in the middle of the night, especially on hard to reach detectors. The 10-year lifespan means you won’t have to worry about maintaining or changing the detectors for an entire decade.
Smoke alarms are required in each sleeping area, and at least one alarm per floor outside of sleeping areas. A carbon monoxide detector is required outside of each sleeping area per floor as well. Carbon monoxide is an invisible, odorless gas that is deadly when inhaled in higher concentrations. Combination smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are available for installation, and will detect when either are present in a deadly amount.
